Panasonic network cameras – Quicktime Audio-Video streaming

TenM3 provides a Quicktime audio-video streaming solution for the Panasonic network cameras. With TenM3, a large number of viewers can watch the LIVE-feed concurrently; the feed can be recorded at the same time. Both the LIVE audio-video streaming and Recording are done over the Internet. At the senders site, ONLY Panasonic network camera with Internet is required. Nothing else is needed.

Audio streaming requires a Panasonic BL-C or BB-HCM camera that supports audio.

Cameras with built-in mic (e.g. BL-C131) are easier to setup and give good quality audio. Cameras with external mic (e.g. BB-HCM581) allow high-quality sound sources to feed directly into the camera. Tips on how to enable audio from the camera are here.

For Smoother Video with Panasonic network cameras

The Camera settings, Scene lighting and upload bandwidth (available to the camera) are all important factors to get smooth video from the Panasonic cameras.

In addition, the sensors on the newer cameras (e.g. the BB-HCM581) react to changing scenes faster. This further helps in giving higher frame rates and smoother videos.

When possible, get the newer Panasonic cameras – BB-HCM581, BL-C140, BL-C101 etc.

The Panasonic BL-C and BB-HCM series cameras can be used with the TenM3 Internet service (www.tenm3.com ) - to setup LIVE-feeds and View, Share, Record them.

The Panasonic BB-HCM581, BL-C131 and BL-C1 have different features and prices. Video and Image quality is an important factor while choosing a camera.

For the best video and image quality, the BB-HCM581 is the right choice – e.g. for broadcasting Events. And if price is the most important consideration then BL-C1 is the right choice – e.g. for home security & monitoring. BL-C131 (and BL-C111) falls in the middle – with a good price and good set of features, it is the choice for mainstream applications.

New Panasonic network cameras – BL-C101, BL-C121, …

The newer Panasonic IP cameras – BL-C101, BL-C121, BL-C140, BL-C160 and BB-HCM547 – offer better features at lower prices.

These cameras are available at Amazon and other retailers. The lead time for BL-C101 still is long on some websites (e.g. Amazon), but, the other cameras are readily available. To get these cameras, search at Amazon with a “A” suffix e.g. “Panasonic BL-C101A” . A Google search will show price & availability at other retailers and dealers.
